The Miami Marine Stadium's placement in the environment is an extraordinary nexus of land, sky and water. The angular structural lines guide the eye from its anchoring foundation on the ground to the anticlastic concrete forms in the sky that evoke a lightweight fabric structure. The graphic reduction of the building's form is most prominent and unmistakable in the logo, its own forms are inverted to produce the sails of the boats which help to accentuate two letter M's for Miami and Marine. This intersection of sails and form is a visual metaphor for the interconnected relationship of the community, structure and events at the site that will occur for generations to come. The horizon line has intentionally been eliminated thereby visually merging land, sea and sky in a simple three color, reproducible graphic.
