7:00 PM Program and Dinner
Biscayne Bay Yacht Club
2540 South Bayshore Drive, Coconut Grove
Jack Meyer, former Commodore of Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, was the project engineer for the construction of the Ralph Middleton Munroe Marine Stadium from its inception in 1961 through its completion in 1963.
While at Dignum Engineers, Jack considered the Marine Stadium the most difficult project of his career. All of the other engineers refused to work on this assignment.
When the Marine Stadium was built, it was considered an engineering marvel; and the longest span of cantilevered concrete in the world. Due to Jack’s brilliant effort, the Stadium has withstood almost half-century of neglect and is now destined for restoration.
The event is co-sponsored by the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club.
Cost: $40 per person, includes full buffet dinner with both Prime Rib and Salmon
There are a limited number of tickets to this event and tickets MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE at the website: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/217987
