The letter is from Stephanie Meeks, President of The National Trust. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has been an important soucre of support for the Marine Stadium, through inclusion on the Trust's "11 Most Endangered" list in 2009 and grants for an engineering study and the Floating Stage Design Contest. Recently, the Trust named the Marine Stadium to its list of National Treasures, which means that the Stadium is now in line for additional support to move the project forward.

Dragon Boat races are the fastest growing outdoor spectator sport in the world. The Miami Dragon Slayers have worked with us since we formed in 2008. There is tremendous opportunity for major dragon boat festivals at the Marine Stadium.

Triathlons are a rapidly growing sport and the South Florida Triathletes (SFT), with over 500 members, is the most important particapatory triathlon group in South Florida.
Even in its current state, the Marine Stadium is used for major triathlon events. We have worked with SFT for several years, and we look forward to collaborating with them to make the Marine Stadium and Basin a world class triathlon venue.

As of December, 2011, we had made presentations about the Marine Stadium to seven Rotary Clubs, four Chambers of Commerce, and other business organizations. AMIKIDS Miami Dade is a not for profit organization dedicated to providing our community's troubled youth with a promising future. The program, which oriented to 14-19 years olds, has an extremely high 80% success rate. AMIKIDS has a branch located on Virginia Key near to the Stadium.
