Tourism Cares, a not for profit organization funded by the travel industry that seeks to encourage historic preservation, agrees to partner with Friends of Miami Marine Stadium. Tourism Cares will organize a volunteer day on May 30, 2013 where 600 tourism professionals from around the United States will come to Miami to prepare the Stadium for restoration. The organization will also assist with special internship volunteer opportunities.
The Marine Stadium Basin will be the first stop of the Never Quit Challenge, a land and sea event designed to raise money for US Veterans and their families.
With the approval of the Marine Stadium site plan by the MIami City Commission on July 11, there continues to be a lot of interest and activity.

Kirk Landon donates $210,000 to Friends of Miami Marine Stadium for restoraton of the Stadium. This is the second major contribution we have received from this highly respected philanthropist. "Marine Stadium Inspires" focuses on Hatte Mae Williams and her dance troop, the Tattoed Ballerinas, who have just finished filming a site specific video at he Marine Stadium. "If Seats Could Talk" highlights Charles Strang, a highly respected engineer in the marine industry who attended opening night at the Stadium, December 27, 1963.
